Last year, I received my Master's Degree from Abilene Christian University. On our way back from graduation, we stopped at Fredericksburg. I noticed a nativity scene at the court house lawn. There was only one problem...someone took Jesus.
I thought how strange and what a prank. God gave His son for us ...why would someone take Jesus. It is not that easy to "take Jesus" from you. God's word asks the question Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [Romans 8:35] The response is very clear when it reads: I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." [Romans 8:38-39]
It's just a prank when someone takes the baby Jesus from the nativity scene but I am grateful that no one can take the Jesus that God freely gave to us.
He did not spare His own Son but gave him up for us all...Romans 8:32
